WTSA and Research and Development (R&D)

Our alliance has a long history of staff collaboration to develop innovative classroom practice and improve achievement across schools. The designation of our teaching school now provides the opportunity for the Wednesbury Teaching School Alliance to develop our practitioner based research further.

Recent alliance wide projects include:

• Early Years Speech, Language and Communication Pilot Project
• Developing evidence in AT1 Maths
• Developing a 'Team Around the Family' model to ensure early identification and intervention for vulnerable families. This model has been rolled out across the Local Authority.
• R&D Network National Theme 1 - What makes great pedagogy? The project focus was to develop dialogue using exploratory talk in order to enhance higher order thinking.
• Closing the Gap: Test and Learn – Research Lesson Study
