Wednesbury Teaching School Alliance works in partnership with the University of Wolverhampton to provide trainees with a programme that has been designed to ensure that our tranees are expertly trained to take up a post as an outstanding NQT. Our lead school is Harvills Hawthorn Primary School, which is the Teaching School.
What programme are we offering?
- One-year School Direct Tuition Primary PGCE
What are we looking for?
- Trainee teachers who are committed to transforming the lives of the pupils that they teach.
- Trainee teachers that are passionate about working with young children and have the drive and ambition to be an outstanding and innovative practitioner.
What qualifications do I need?
- A 2:1 or above at degree level (2:2 may be considered if there is a breadth of school experience)
- A grade C / grade 4 or above in GCSE (or equivalent) English, Maths and Science
- Some experience in the classroom is preferable (paid or voluntary)
- Sound knowledge of Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2
- Passed the Maths and English Skills tests before the programme begins
What qualification will I get?
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
- A PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate of Education)
- 60 Master Level Credits
